Came here when the restaurant was under a different name and ownership, my expectation was high upon returning. This is the closest thing to a food experience I have had in Cologne. Food, service, wine menu are all top notch. We went with the traditional menu and were very impressed. The taste and presentation were perfect, I cannot wait to come back here again. Absolutely delicious!

Excellent menu from the first amuse gueule to final Petit fours. Extensive wine list. So recommended, but make sure you don't get the table in the corner next to the service station - uncomfortable light and of course a lot of traffic there. At least we received a glass of bubbles as an apology.

Went in May and only getting round to reviewing now but still felt compelled to. Food was undeniably interesting and tasty but that’s where the positivity stops. When we arrived we felt unwelcome. The atmosphere was stark and cold, borderline rude.

We were given two choices of menu but zero assistance was provided and when we chose they actually started by bringing out the wrong menu - we had to convince them this was indeed the case.

Each course looked fantastic but was plonked on the table by the waiter without further explanation. Wine tasting was not offered nor was assistance provided and as a result, the hefty price tag felt way beyond what was reasonable.

The magic in these places is not just in the food but also the journey and unfortunately I think this restaurant has got it way off. Disappointing - recommend saving your money for the fantastic bars and restaurants in the old town where the service is fantastic.

Ein legeres Restaurant, welches nicht mehr verspricht als es liefert.
Service hatte sehr viel zu tun, dementsprechend gestresst waren sie. Trotz vollem Laden gab es keine langen Wartezeiten und das Essen war sehr lecker. Klar ist das für die Preise auch zu erwarten, aber es ist ja trotzdem nicht selbstverständlich.

Am besten gefiel mir, wie mein Auge genau so verwöhnt wurde, wie meine Geschmacksknospen.

Komme bestimmt nochmal wieder!

Eine ganz starke Aktion des Restaurant Maximilian Lorenz war die Verköstigung von Flutgeschädigten und Helfern mit einem BBQ am 28.08.21 auf dem Dorfplatz in Rech im Ahrtal.
Die Steaks, Burger und Beilagen waren mehr als köstlich ; die Qualität war top und die Garpunkte wurden perfekt getroffen.

Mehr so eine Qualität Outdoor hinbekommen, muss im Restaurant auch vortrefflich kochen.
Definitiv werde ich bei meinem nächsten Köln Besuch diesem Restaurant eine Visite zum Essen abstatten.
