A world ethnological museum of the highest standard. A well organized narrative around the shared humanity among different cultures in the world.

I was extremely impressed by the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum and thoroughly enjoyed my 3+ hour visit. All staff were extremely friendly and welcoming from the very start. The various exhibitions were presented very effectively and I very much enjoyed the ability to view exhibits "up close and personal". I personally found many of the stories being told to be very moving and the various elements of interactivity to be very novel and effective.

Overall I can say this is one of the best museums I have visited in a long time.

Surprisingly interesting. Exhibits well done with some novel presentation. Some information boards were not well lit or had insufficient contrast between the text and background. These were not easy to read.

Excellent museum - objects from around the world beautifully displayed and there is a lot of context of how they were stolen and culturally appropriated by the colonizers under the guise of cultural exploration.

The museum is thoughtfully laid out with the opportunity to interact with a lot of the exhibits.
Allow yourself a half day at the very least and end with an excellent espresso served at the cafe in the lobby area.

A varied and detailed ethnographic museum that is moving with the times and makes it part of the conversation and experience. Absolutely one of my favourites.

Have been there during the celebration of Dia de Los Muertos. Was quite impressed. The museum is big and well maintained. There are elevetors and toilets easily accessible for all people. The collection of the cultural heritage of different countries is impressive. Highly recommended.

This Museum was on of the best I've ever been to, both here and in the U.S. While it may lack the immensity of, say, The Met in N.Y.C., it makes up for it in detailed, *extremely* well presented exhibits on culture. IF YOU DON'T SPEAK GERMAN then no worries!!! A great deal of the information is presented in English and is all very well written and informative!

It's split into two halves, one of which is dedicated to Medieval sculptures and works, the other is worldwide. BOTH are awesome and I would highly, highly recommend the combined ticket.

The only thing that needs work is the gift shop: whereas for example Der Dom has *everything* Dom themed, they had relatively generic offerings, which doesn't detract from the experience of course (hence no star loss) but was something in which I was disappointed
