I usually don't write reviews, but the food was shockingly bad. Extremely expensive for what you get.
First, the good parts: The service was friendly and efficient and if cost isn't an issue, the cocktail was good. Ambience was very pleasant as well.
For a place with only a few burgers available, we decided that was a good sign (smaller menu u003d generally better food). There were four or five burgers on the menu, my wife chose the chicken burger (12 EUR) and I chose the classic cheeseburger (13 EUR).
While we waited we were served bread with sour cream and ketchup as condiments. Very strange. At first we thought the condiments were maybe for the fries that would accompany our burgers, but we each received condiments for our main course separately.
Arrived quickly, with what looked like supermarket potato wedges from the freezer section. The cheeseburger was thick and pretty greasy which isn't necessarily a bad thing but began falling apart quickly and I resorted to silverware after a few bites. At the risk of sounding picky, the bun (bread) wasn't brioche, which was a disappointment since if you're already paying 13.- for a burger you kind of expect at least a fancy bun. I did like that the bun was toasted, so clearly some effort went into making the meal. There was ketchup on the burger which I personally don't like because it has a very strong sweet flavor that gets in the way of tasting the meat, and therefore should be optionally added by the customer. If I want ketchup on a burger, I'll ruin my burger with it myself. For all that, the meat on the cheeseburger was cooked to a nice medium rare.
The real disappointment was that my wife's chicken burger looked and tasted identical to a Burger King "crispy chicken" except for 12.- instead of 2.- The patty was clearly from the deep freeze section of the supermarket and was very disappointing for something you order at a restaurant.
Save yourself a hassle and go to Hans im Glueck down the street.
