Beds and pillows feel very low quality. Shower was surprisingly good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Walking distance to a lot of attractions and you can always use the scooters that are everywhere.

Stayed here 4 years ago, impressed by how nice and helpful the staff were, went back last week and same again, all staff especially Robert on front desk extremely helpful. Breakfast great plenty of choice, our room was lovely on 4th floor, handy for trains etc, really enjoyed it.

Decent enough hotel - out dated furnishing in many areas but can't fault the cleanliness or friendliness of the staff - simple old school charm.

The staff are great and kind. Unfortunately, they didn't check the room before we came in, the trash bin was full and one bed was not done properly, looking like somebody was just there. They changed our room and everything was all right, breakfast also nice!

It was a very good overnight stay for our purpose of visiting Christmas Markets in Köln--we were able to visit five locations on foot. The hotel...what can I say...is somewhat old-fashioned, and it could use some updating IMHO.

We were welcomed by a nice young gentleman at the reception, and having been checked necessary papers we proceeded to our room (currently, you are required to wear a mask in the hotel as you might expect it). He showed us where the markets were on the map, and told us we may have to have the current negative COVID PCR results to enter which thankfully we didn't.

Pros: a reasonably good location for our purpose, clean room with comfortable bed that provided good sleep quality, a very good breakfast buffet (we weren't expecting eggs and bacon), free in-room wifi access

Cons: 12€ overnight parking fee at a garage a block away

I think it's a very good location to explore Köln. It's not a bad walk to the heart of the Old Town--it takes about 15 minutes to reach the famous and magnificent Köln Cathedral and Main Railroad Station.

The people running the hotel are really friendly and pleasant to deal with. Our room was in the basement so not very light but it had a door directly out into the backyard. Standard German style breakfast, but freshly cooked with decent variety.
