The location and staff are lovely (when you meet them). However, do not arrive late. The check-in is not staffed after 10. You must rely on getting an email (That took several days and phone calls to get, just before boarding my flight - which caused great stress). The email details a code that you must use to enter the parking lot at the rear of the hotel. And then you go across the parking lot and enter another code to gain your keys. This is the first time I have ever experienced this set up to enter a hotel and hopefully my last. I didn't have breakfast here so can't comment. There is a REWE supermarket downstairs with a great selection of food and drinks. The hotel is lovely and quirky and my room was spotless.

We booked this hotel over cheaper options mainly because it advertised air conditioning.

Arrived in the room around 10.30pm that night to find that the air conditioning did not work.

Informed a member of staff. Staff member dismissed us and did not offer to come to the room and look at the problem.

Instead he told us that they had no other rooms, no engineer would be able to come and implied that it wasn't even that hot. No compensation was offered.

Tried talking about issue again while checking out (around 9.30am) but staff were nowhere to be found. There was also no incidation of when they would return.

Very disappointing. Room should be in working condition whether staff deem 20-30C to be hot or not. Staff were not particularly welcoming in general.

Super clean, great location, easy parking, many restaurants running until 03:00-05:00 am in front of this hotel. Front desk is very friendly. We will be back again for sure. We recommend it to you.

Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately the room was a little rundown, especially the bathroom. Lift didn't work which is inconvenient if your room is on a higher level.

Very friendly staff, decent rooms, and a yummy breakfast buffet. My view from my room on the 4th Floor was beautiful. It was very close to all my destinations, too. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Köln.

Basic hotel in a good location. Hotel has definitely seen better days and the rooms and decor seemed a bit worn/faded. However the room was comfortable and the staff were friendly and spoke English. Lively location with lots of bars, restaurants and clubs walking distance. Room was quiet though. Decent breakfast included.

Very nice hotel placed in city centre and although it's surrounded by many restaurants it's calm inside (at least during working days).

Every employee I met was very kind and friendly. Rooms are nicely equipped, bathroom looked like brand new and overall very clean! Breakfast was all right, better standard I would say (somewhere in between 3 and 4 stars hotel).

Got very nice impression from this hotel, had a pleasant stay. No idea why this is marked as two stars hotel only (at least in google maps), because it's as good as every other 4 star hotel (and cleaner). Maybe it's because of classic keys instead of card :)

The official websites deservers a redesign though.

For sure would recommend stay in Lasthaus am Ring.
