If you are looking for Indian Food in Cologne, Chennai Chef is your best option. Friendly staff and some of the best South Indian food I have had since I visited Germany. Don’t forget to try their special menu (thali) which is only available on Saturdays. This one definitely reminded me of India. We would definitely visit as often, on the weekends.

Very authentic South Indian food. The service is awesome and quick and the owners are very kind. Good value for money. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone! Will surely be visiting again :)

Most wholesome, authentic, tasty and filling food made with care and cleanliness. Hands down the best South Indian restaurant in Germany. It is actually worth the long 400km drive from where I live. Don’t miss the thali and dosa, highly recommended!!

Ordered the Utthapam and it's one of the best Southern Indian dishes I've had in a long, long time. The sambar was extremely well balanced in terms of composition, spices and flavor and the textures of the Utthapam itself were immensely diverse. The taste was just sublime and all the ingredients seemed to be very well measured and extremely fresh. The sauces were pretty authentic and delicious as well.

Hands down the best south Indian food I have ever had in Germany. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were very filling. The whole setup, the way the food is served, the hospitality of the owners and the staff was very touching. I would highly recommend the Mysore Masala Dosa. The filter coffee was also very nice. They are happy to refill the sambhar (lentils) and the chutney.
Definitely make a reservation since the place has limited seating nowadays and is always flocking with customers.
Fantastic experience...I'll be going again.

Lovely place. Doesn’t look like much from the outside. Never went there because of that. But we were looking for a place close to home with food for the kids and us. And we found this little hidden gem.

Great food. Apparently special South Indian food. First time I had Dosa. Loved it. We’ll definitely go there again. So glad we went there.

This is one restaurant that reminds you of home. The hospitality is as amazing as the food. It has become our go to South India Restaurant in the state of NRW. The dosa' are a highlight here. One item off the menu is the South Indian Veg Thalli (available on Saturday's). The curries on the South Indian Thalli keep changing every week.
