The second time having lunch in Umami. Love the outdoor sitting. I ordered a tea with mint and ginger and oranges, very refreshing. The crispy duck dish was more to our taste with fresh vegetables, but also ordered the duck with pumpkin and potatoes bowl, very filling and the curry is a very warming. You can't reserve a table for lunch so could be a little crowded especially on sunny days.

We were astonished by the fast food serving. Our dishes arrived within 5 minutes after ordering though the restaurant was almost completely full! Udon noodles were very soft and juicy in the served seafood sauce. Prices are super fair for the quality of the food. Atmosphere is also great but it’s a bit loud because of the mass of people.

It’s a nice place to have a date nite or group dinner. We had sharing menus - the taste was good, tho I would expect more ‘asian’ taste. It was somehow commercialized. The cocktails were also nice! I would visit again

Great for lunch and dinner outside in summer time. The service is always super fast. The fish pot is delicious and my favourite. I recommend the coriander mule (non alcoholic) for hot summer days.

Umami is an excellent restaurant that I can definitely highly recommend to everyone. I was there twice in my life and both times I was extremely happy. The design of the place is great, even toilets look beautiful, the staff is suuuuper friendly and helpful, and the food… the food is divine. :) we ordered meat family set and every single gel dish we got was delicious. The same as homemade alcohol free cocktails. And the cherry on top is an amazing view and the water tower. :) You should definitely stop by when you’re in Berlin

We were a bit disappointed with our visit to Umami. We had high hopes that this would become one of our go-to Asia food places but it didn’t.

Service
They have a huge amount of tables, therefore the service does get slowed down quite a bit. We also arrived with a line in place but took less that 10 minutes to get seated.

Food
Ho Tay pancakes: quite a small serving, the pancakes felt like sweet potato hash browns and the 2 small prawns tasted like they had been reheated in a microwave.
Super sea bowl: good taste, good salmon serving, fair squid serving, poor prawn serving
Dragons BBQ: not worth the price, the prawns were mediocre, carrot seemed a bit raw, regular sweet potatoes and poor serving of asparagus.
We also had a half litre beer and a tea.
We spent €39.

Ambiance:
It’s quite tight with the tables, but the atmosphere is quite nice.

Excellent vietnamese restaurant, one of the best in Berlin. The service was quick and dishes were prepared very quickly. The food was very tasty and their homemade Ice Tea they serve is very good.
