I can´t agree with the negative reviews. Very comfortable place and very nice staff. Yes, a bit pricy but what can you expect from Mitte!? They had milk alternatives and decaf options. Didn´t try any main dishes.

Great place to relax after browsing through endless books. We went were with a company of 4 and there was no problem finding a table. The service was swift and flawless. Good selection of cakes, the recommended Mississippi Torte was very filling, heavily saturated with chocolate, the portion very large, but it was not so outstanding in taste.

The cafe is very nice and cosy, with its one little waterfall and available books to skim through while having a drink. Unfortunately, it’s quite pricey compared to most cafes in Berlin. Still worth a visit once in a while.

This is one of my favorite bookstores in the world and the cafe is fantastic for a business lunch. They use only local ingredients and the weekly menu changes often with the season. I recently had sage rosemary gnocchi. Was delicious. I have been pretty lucky regarding the service...
The ambience is really worth 5 stars.

been there several times, service was always slow and unfriendly. today, the waitresses preferred to rearrange chairs and clean empty tables instead of taking care of the customers they already had sitting on other tables, waiting to get the menus or order. We left after 30 minutes without even having seen a menu or anything. will never go there again, Berlin has way too many good cafés for this to be acceptable.

Nice place (especially the vegetal wall) and correct food (good chocolate cake). However, the water does not appear on the menu and costs 6,60€ the bottle of 0,75l! For me this is a scam.
