As a person of Vietnamese descent that has eaten Vietnamese food across a variety of different countries (including Vietnam), the pho here was mediocre at the very best. Overall, the food was highly disappointing but the environment was pleasant.
The broth did not have any of the distinct flavours of pho and resembled generic beef stock at best. At worst, I felt like the broth was simply salted water served at soup temperature. The pho broth is probably the most important aspect of the meal and has is woefully inadequate at Pho 12.
Second, the meat to noodle ratio of the beef pho (Pho Bo) was alarmingly inadequate. In total, there was likely around 50-80g of beef in the entire portion. This is less than half of what is usually served in most pho restaurants.
The redeeming factors of the restaurant were all unrelated to food. The price was reasonable, the location accessible, the environment was clean and the decor of the restaurant was chic. This makes it a decent location for a light dinner if you do not expect authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
