SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!! I was visiting Berlin from London and was taken here yesterday 23rd June 2019 for what would have been an early dinner. We arrived at the restaurant around 18:30 the place was not busy. Not one person from the wait staff greeted us or offered to escort my friend and I to a table so, we took it upon ourselves to find a table outside.
We waited 15 mins and no-one from the staff approached us. My friend who is German and from Berlin had to call one of the waiters as he delivered some desserts to two ladies who were seated in front of us. When my friend kindly asked him to serve us or at least give us the drinks menu he said he could not as he was ending his work shift but, someone else would. We found this to be very strange behavior from someone who works as a waiter to say to customer but we accepted his response with faith that he would have a colleague come and take our order.
We waited another 15 minutes... and still nobody came to our table and the waiter who said he was leaving was still very much there and appeared to be working on other tables!!!!!
We asked another person to take our order - he too said that he could not because it was not his job. He simply clears up the plates from tables but, would get a waiter to serve us.
After waiting a total of 35 minutes with no drinks or order we decided to leave!!! The service was disgusting and it become clear to my friend and I that no-one wanted to serve us. This kind of behavior is bizarre for any kind of hospitality establishment. As we left the restaurant we informed the manager on duty. He seemed not to bothered to be losing our custom he did not even persuade us to try and stay.
As we were walking out we could hear him and another waiter shouting at each other. It was deeply uncomfortable. I admit, I was quite looking forward to this place as the views looked great from our seats outside but, the slow service is beyond shocking and not what you would expect from any restaurant and it ruined my last night in Berlin.
I travel to Berlin often and I have dinned in many beautiful places in the city and all around the world but, this has to be one of the worst establishments ever. If you want simple service and to be served by very simple people then go here! I did not get a chance to taste the food but, from the previous reviews from other unhappy people it appears that food too is simple! Therefore, It seems that we had a lucky escape. DO NOT GO HERE!
