We have known Hotel Pension Margrit for years, our first visit was in 2010. This last visit was literally the our last one.
1) Check-in - the check-in is supposed to be from 13:00. We informed the hotel that we will arrive between 14:00 - 15:00. The room was not ready until almost 16:00. The staff was rather non-cooperative.
2) The room - it really needs some renovation work and upgrade. The room was smelly, not clean. Dangerous electric plugs, stains on the wall, broken furniture etc. - see the photos attached. No glasses in the room or cups in the bathroom. The shower itself was no pleasant to use - low water pressure and the regulation between the hot and cold water was really bad so you could even burn yourself.
3) There used to be a large breakfast buffet (with smoked salmon, for Easter small Lindt chocolate bunnies etc.) which was really nice. In 2019 there were still warm food options (eggs, sausages) and fruits. The current breakfast offer is really sad and definitely below average. Moreover the glasses, cups, jars vere obviously not clean. We skipped the breakfast last day and went to a nearby bakery.
The only positive thing is the location - close to U-Bahn and S-Bahn, KuDamm, Thai park etc. Nice playgrounds near the hotel.
I´m sorry to witness such decline of Hotel Pension Margrit. Next time, we will look for another hotel in the neighbourhood.
