Customer service was decent and breakfast was too.

But that's about it. The lovely yellow lights of the front of the hotel was fake.

The interiors of the room is ageing and lights are dim. Unpractical bathroom and cold bedroom. Front door was very hard to open. Put some grease to it!

Not more than 3 stars if I'm kind enough.

The room was not sound proof. I can easily listen to the next door without evedropping. There was huge bang sounds whole night I couldn't sleep whole night. There was a fight in the corridor around 3:30 am, that is middle of the night. When I told the whole story to the reception in early morning she did not listen to me and didn't bother to say sorry. She was rude and unprofessional.
Upon check in the room, the room light was not working and it took 1 hour to change our room. The room was dirty. Overall pathetic experience I have in this hotel. It was a waste of money. No comfort at all. If there is an option for a 0 star I would have given that. . .Poor management.

As expected for a 3 star hotel, room was clean, bit of waiting for check-in, very good breakfast

Hotel reminds a lot Soviet interior, I had a room with broken bathroom, not working wi-fi, not very friendly staff. But the price is okay and breakfasts are awesome

The double room we booked is a little inferior to other similar-ranking hotel rooms and a little different from the pictures, but it was nice, clean and cozy, and worth its price. The bathroom has heating and a bathtub u003c3 we loved that. The staff is generally polite and helpful although they were not always present at the reception.
Breakfast offered is decent but could be better.
We had minor issues with our room but nothing too serious.
The location of the hotel is great, only a 5 minute walk from Adenauerplatz UBahn station and very close to restaurants, supermarkets and other helpful shops.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Novum Hotel Lichtburg and would probably book again.

Dirty carpet, There was blood on the curtain, and what surprised me the most is that they charge for water in the room 4€!!! The only plus is the very friendly service during breakfasts

I've read some of the negative reviews and I can't agree. Thin walls? There was absolutely nothing to hear from the other rooms, and the hotel was completely booked up. Dirty? No, it's not dirty, some components like the rug and the grout in the bathroom are just old. Hot in the summer? Yes, there I agree. But it's far from unbearable, and I stayed there for a week with constant temperatures above 30° C. It's no secret that the hotel has no air conditioning. If you want AC, get a room in a hotel for € 10,- more per day. Stupid or impolite people at the reception? No, not at all. They're very nice, helpful and polite, and if I wasn't recognised, I was always asked for some kind of ID.
Also: Free Wifi with acceptable bandwidth, a good Turkish bakery right next door, five minutes to the subway.
