One of the most beautiful and well designed malls I have been to in my life. The art déco inspired interiors are so charming, giving an old world feel, the cleanliness is impeccable and the stores are well organized.

Really large shopping center with almost any kind of store that one might need from electronics and gift stores to restaurants and ice creams to beauty salons and barber shops. The interior decoration is very special compared to other shopping malls and is something I like about this mall. It is sometimes too crowded though so I recommend going when it is not as crowded.

Good mall for fast shopping, small nice restaurants, BVG transportation office although I had a bad experience with one of their shops (Anson's) so I don't recommend that shop.

Das Schloss is one of the premier malls in Berlin.   It is elegant,  gorgeous and convenient (in short walking distance)  to our apartment in Berlin. It adjoins the old Steglitz Rathaus on SchlossStrasse.   On previous trips to Germany, we often shopped here to eat some of our meals,  drink coffee,  indulge in ice cream or buy  food, clothing, u0026 electronics.    This time in September u0026 October 2018, one of the restaurants in the Food Court we had patronized  had closed.  Found a WiFi servicing our area so  did not need to rely either on Das Schloss or one of the mall tenants for reception.   We continued to buy our  daily food necessities from Rewe in the lower level of the mall  and on two occasions  stopped in  at AlTialtro where I use to  connect  to their net while enjoying  my cake and ice cream.  Das Schloss is my number one choice of shopping centers.

Great place BUT recently I am absolutely disgusted with all the people who smoke right next to the ramp, which is used by people with disabilities and parents with strollers. It's just absolutely ridiculous that a smoking area is right next to the library's drop off box, also located at the top of the ramp. During a nice day, people sit on the south entrance steps, next to the ramp, and everyone is forced to inhale second hand smoke. Why is it that I have to be exposed to this in the 21st Century? Please consider moving the smoking areas away from the public entrances and actually enforce it. Let smokers have a place to do what they want, but why must I inhale their dirty, disgusting cigarette smoke just because I want to shop there??

Some 10 years ago I read an article which had economic 'experts' gushing that Schlossstraße had room for so much more shopping center space. Das Schloss was the 3rd out of 4 and it turned out the worst, probably due to location. It has all you need for casual shopping, no more and no less. The two outliers in a positive sense were Conrad Electronics and Anson's back then. Conrad is gone and Anson's is now a run off the mill shop-in-shop affair like Peek u0026 Cloppenburg (then again it seems they're the same company these days). Amazingly, the 4 mobile phone stores right next to each other seem to have survived the test of time, somehow.
