The Bismarck Memorial is a monumental sculpture honouring one of the greatest Germans who ever lived, the mastermind of the German Unification and Chancellor of the German Empire for decades.

This monument portrays Bismarck standing in his ceremonial Chancellor uniform surrounded by allegorical statues depicting German world power status at the end of the 19th century, German industrial and military might, German unity and German history.

A monumental piece of work that should be on your Berlin itinerary.

Randomly walked across this monument trying to get to the metro station and I am glad I did. It is very large with four main statues. It is definitely something you can stand and look at for a while. If you are out near Victory column swing by this one, you won't be disappointed.

A monument dedicated to the politician Bismarck. It is a very beautiful statue consisting of four different statues and full of symbols. The location of the statue is a bit hidden, we discovered it by chance.

Really imposing statue of Bismarck surrounded by four other characters. We have Atlas or similar considering the globe. We have the scholar similar to the one outside of St Nikolai church and we have the blacksmith forging the sword. Most interestingly we have a woman stamping on the throat of a lion and holding it down. This is very striking for a German statue which Im off to read about. Beautiful surroundings.

One of the most beautiful and impressive monuments that I have ever seen.
The main part of my admiration is based on how this monument was framed: Four sculptures on the base around the pedestal reveal the greatness of Bismarck for his country. The titanic power and the global scale of his personality are reflected in the image of Atlas with a globe on his shoulders in front of the pedestal. Behind Siegfried, on his knees, forges an imperial sword, with which Bismarck subjugated the enemies of the empire. On the left side the Sibyl, as an allegory of state wisdom, personifies the spiritual significance of Bismarck. On the right side, the ruler with a scepter and crown, presumably an allegory of Germany itself or state coercion, pacifies the leopard of discord and confusion, explaining the invincible power of Bismarck... Once at the base of the monument there were some more "illustrations", but they were removed.
