Wir waren zu viert zum Sonntagsbrunch im Hotel-Restaurant Weissenhof.

Vergleicht man die angebotenen Speisen sowohl in ihrer Vielfalt, als auch der Darbietung (das Auge isst eben einfach mit) mit anderen Hotels wie zum Beispiel dem Mövenpick Airport oder dem Meridien, so schneidet dieser Brunch um Längen schlechter ab.

Es mag sein, dass der im Preis inbegriffene Wein oder das Bier manche Besucher positiv beeindruckt, für uns war dies allerdings ein irrelevantes Kriterium.

Was man unserer Meinung nach jedoch für den Preis von 35,50€ erwarten könnte, wäre eine Käse-Platte oder auch eine Platte mit verschiedenen Hartwürsten.
Bergkäse, Camembert oder auch verschiedene Frischkäse-Variationen wie man sie aus anderen Lokalitäten kennt, waren leider nicht zu finden.

Lediglich in Scheiben geschnittener “Standard“-Käse wie Butterkäse, Leerdamer und Tilsitter sowie Frischkäse in einzelnen Plastikpäckchen wurden angeboten.

Auch was das Thema Brot angeht waren wir sehr enttäuscht. Es gab lediglich drei verschiedene Brötchen-Varianten, frisch gebackenes Brot, Baguette oder ähnliches konnten wir nicht entdecken.

Gut geschmeckt haben uns der im Ganzen dargebotene Lachs sowie die gegrillten Antipasti, allerdings konnten diese beiden Speisen den insgesamt enttäuschenden Gesamteindruck nicht wirklich zum Positiven beeinflussen.

Fazit: vom Frühstück her betrachtet das Niveau eines durchschnittlichen kontinentalen Standards und auch die warmen Speisen kamen über ein ausreichend bis maximal befriedigend leider nicht hinaus.

Unsere Vorspeisen:
- Carpaccio vom gefüllten Kalbsfilet: Trüffelvinaigrette war nicht zu finden, aber sonst ok
- Mousse vom Hokkaidokürbis: Der Mousse war recht gut, der Salat dafür sehr unspektakulär
- Rinderkraftbrühe: sehr fad und geschmacklos

Hauptspeisen:
- Geschmortes Lammhäxle: trockenes Fleisch
- Kurzgebratenes vom Reh "Baden-Baden": die hangeschabten Haselnussspätzle waren ebenfalls fad, das Fleisch zäh
- Schweinefilet im Waldpilzmantel: wurde zum Sieger-essen des Abends gekürt
- Rosa gebratene Entenbrust: war nicht rosa, es war komplett durch
Und bei ALLEN waren die Saucen verbrannt. Das haben wir dann auch bemängelt, worauf die Antwort vom Chefkoch aus der Küche hiess: das ist so gewollt und unsere charakterisierende Note... AHA!

Als Entschädigung gab's dann Kaffee aufs Haus. 3 von uns willigten ein und bestellten Cappuccino, die waren nur leider ungenießbar und wurden stehen gelassen.

Um die Laune zu heben bestellten wir drei Portionen von der "Triologie von Schockolade" und auch hier wurde auf allen drei Tellern das gebackene Schockoladeneis stehen gelassen, da es schmeckte als sei es in der Friteuse vergessen worden. Interessiert hat das den Service nur leider überhaupt nicht und stattdessen wurden die Teller ohne zu fragen, wie es schmeckte, abgeräumt.

Zutiefst enttäuscht und mit rund 60 EUR pro Person weniger in der Tasche ging es dann nach Hause. Nie wieder!
