If I were a smoker, I would give Oblomow a solid 4 rating. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. The crowd seemed pretty relaxed and grounded. The crowd was diverse in race, age, and walk of life. As implied, there was a lot of smoke; although they have a non-smoking section, the air is too thick to get away from it, and in any event, you have to pass through the smoke to get to the non-smoking section. That said, of the 8 or so bars I've visited in downtown Stuttgart, all have been smoky. The best thing about Oblomow is that it does not have pretentious doormen who thing they are bouncers at Studio 54. Just walk in and buy some liquor or beer and relax - then burn all you clothes the next day.
