I'll start by saying this is my first time in Germany and I have zero knowledge or expertise with German cuisine. I chose to sit inside for a different experience. It wasn't very busy inside or outside for a Sunday afternoon about 1:00pm.
I had the Linsensalat mit rinderbrust (lentil salad with beef brisket) and it was outstanding. I also had the Mousse au chocolat for dessert and it was really good.
The service was exceptional and a few of the servers spoke English very well so I had zero issues.

Really liked this place. Menu is a little bit limited but the food was really good and reasonably priced.

The service is fantastic and the food (especially the Schokoladekuchen) is great! Best Chai Tea Latte I've had in Saarbrücken. The atmosphere is cosy and warm--true gemütlichkeit.

Beautifully located at the Saarbruecken Castle, the Tomate 2 is a real disappointment: it's difficult to get a table, you have to wait very long to get your drinks or meals. The meals are too expensive for the bad quality you get. Service is not the best.
The brunch on Sunday is OK but there are better restaurants to go to in Saarbruecken.
