We thought it would be touristy but were agreeably surprised. The sitting arrangement is lovely and the food delicious (typical biergarten stuff). We keep on coming back! ????

Good schaufele, very Good Schnitzel, Spätzle, Bratwürste and Kloß. Avoid the Brotzeit though. Veggie Schnitzel and salad were average. Tucher beer is served so obviously not the best but the food compensates it :)
You also have a wonderful view of the castle and the burggraben under it.

One of the best places to go in Nuremberg! Beer garden with great food, nice vibes and more importantly good service. If you don’t know what to try, get the Schaufele (pork shoulder)! Skin is crispy and the meat is literally fall off the bone. You won’t regret it.

It’s a quaint beer garden with a delicious variety of beers. Service was top quality and, when the weather is pleasant it is a great experience. A good place to stop after a visit to the castle.

A friendly place to stumble upon with a traditional Bavarian feel in the shadow of the castle. 100% outdoor seating means it's great for the warm weather, attentive and welcoming staff.

Our favorite spot. Good beer, great food, reasonable prices. Excellent view and peaceful spot after walking through crowds all day.

Speaking as a local, this is one of my favourites! Traditional Franconian dishes with a beautiful beergarden in direct sight of the castle. We come here regularly and the food is always excellent.
Also the staff is always friendly and in a good mood.

Came by for lunch and the food exceeded my expectations by a lot. I got the gefülltes Spießbraten and it was absolutely delicious, seasoned wonderfully. The prices were very fair, especially for the size of the portions. You get a decent view of the castle sitting outside as well. Waiters were a bit less attentive than I would have liked, though.
