We have been to this authentic German cuisine restaurant twice while visiting Nuremberg, and we would highly recommend it!
It is the most popular German cuisine restaurant in the area for very good reason!
We had absolutely amazing meals both times we visited with prompt and friendly service.
Their pork shoulder, pork knuckle, brats, and Wiener Schnitzel are probably the best that we have eaten anywhere in the area.
They have a huge menu with plenty of choices, so it may be hard to decide or you may have to return multiple times to sample all of their local specialties.
Take the time to review the menu online before you visit.
The portions are pretty huge, so be prepared by arriving hungry.
They are always really busy (which is a good sign), but they have seating inside for almost 600 people, and in the warmer months, plenty of shaded and comfortable outdoor seating.
If you choose to visit on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday they have a locally brewed Nuremberg Red barrel beer that you should definitely sample. It has a unique and full flavor that is definitely representative of a Bavarian beer, and it is delicious!
Prices are reasonable, too.
Wr will definitely keep returning to this restaurant every time we visit Nuremberg!

Very good place to hangout and have a cup of coffee. My preference will be Black German Beer with Pork belly. Must try chicken and salmon. Worthy place and good taste. If you need spicy , pls ask for it and they add it. My suggestion is to have lunch always!!!!wow ???? ???? ☺️

This place boasts its 600 seat capacity, but it should really boast it's food, because it was amazing.

Don't let the name fool you as there is plenty more than bratwurst on offer, which by all accounts are still a very good choice.

The Schäufele, roast pork with a cap of crackling, is the dish you'll probably see most often coming from the kitchen, and that's because it's delicious.

Wash that down with a traditional Rotbier, and everything is gonna be fine.

Lively atmosphere, good customer service. Huge food portions but a bit salty. The Apfelstrudel was warm and delicious!

Great local food and beer in a lovely outdoor beer garden. Friendly helpful staff and a great selection of food and drinks with big portions, English spoken and English menu available too which is great. Daily specials too, great place to enjoy the tasty local Rotbier!

Great vegan/ vegetarian food, very friendly staff, and really local feeling and cuisine. Recommended for everyone who wants to experience the traditional Nürnberger dishes.

Would give 2.5 out of 5!

Positives:
-nice atmosphere
-welcoming and attentive staff
- crispy pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe) is very large so good to share it
- pork kunckle's has a crispy skins so very nice
- price for the food is very good

Negatives:
- pork meat itself not so tasty, perhaps it is overcooked (as it is very hard in someparts)
- sauce is bland
- potato dumpling as average
