Exquisite monument, witness to the strength of the Catholic Church in the region. Very well preserved, enjoyed the small details present everywhere.

What do you think about this gothic cathedral? Pretty cool, right? Well, it is famous for a whole another reason.
There are three iron cages hanging from the church tower
*have a look at the second picture to understand what I am talking about* ⬅️
In 1536 these were used to expose the corpses of Jan van Leiden, Bernhard Krechting and Bernhard Knipperdolling after they were publicly tortured and killed in the Prinzipalmarkt for leading the Münster Rebellion.????
The remains of their bodies were placed in the three cages for 50 years as a warning to others.
If any of you are interested in a more detailed explanation, search "Münster Rebellion" up on google and read all about it.????

A stunning church with a beautiful architecture.
From the outside it is beautiful, and from the inside it is even more beautiful.
On my opinion, it is better than the dome.

Architecture of the Church is amazing. There are restaurants around it where one can sit for a lunch or a cup of coffee enjoying the ambient.

Great place for a Christmas market.
The space is well located for the centre of münster and had a great atmosphere when visiting.
Architecture was well worth the visit and the site fits perfectly with everything around it.

Divine!
A shining example of Late Gothic design, the Church of St. Lamberti was built through the 14th and 15th centuries and forms the northern boundary of the Prinzipalmarkt.
All eyes will be on the tower, not least for the hollow tracery on the spire but also for the grim sight of the iron cages above the clock.
These are from the 1530s and once held the remains of the leaders of Münster’s Anabaptist rebellion during the Reformation.
The tower also has a night watchman, a tradition that goes back more than 630 years.
At the moment this role is filled by Martje Saljé, the first female “watchman” in the building’s history.
Every weekday evening apart from Tuesday she marks the stroke of the half hour and hour between 21:00 and 00:00 with a blast from a copper horn.
