Service staff was really friendly, but they could have had more people working on Friday evening, waiting times were very long.
Food was absolutely delicious, but quite a few items were not available as were sold out by 8pm Friday evening. Beer - after a long wait - was good.
The place was fully booked, which made it close to impossible to talk - one had to shout to be heard.

Nice place to spend an evening with friends. Behaving like knights and follow ridiculous rules was a lot of fun!
The staff was friendly and gave funny speeches for introduction. The food was excellent and portions huge! So better go there really hungry!

Full disclosure, about 10 years back I used to work here. Even been here at the grand opening. It's a lovely restaurant with a great and friendly staff. You have an amazing selection of fruit wines and different varieties of mead and beer. The food is traditional and delicious, not always 100% authentically medieval but that's to your benefit. I'd highly recommend it for its atmosphere alone. Being friends, break bread and drink mead. You'll have a great time.

we had our end of season (sword fighting) meetup here and we really enjoyed it. Great beers and berry wines as well as mead. Food was plenty and good. Atmosphere was very relaxed. Basement ans candlelight... sort of. We will be back.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Staff all extremely friendly and translated the menu for us, as well as recommended traditional Bavarian dishes. They also had vegan options.

Medieval restaurant with awesome food. The ambient is very much in the spirit of the Middle Ages, including the attire of the staff. The food is excellent and always enough to be full afterwards. The place is usually crowded, so be sure to make a reservation (at least on the weekends). Be aware: the name of the place derives from a medieval torture device, which is used on people who come to the restaurant on their birthday. ;)

Food doesn't taste good. The concept is not funny at all as it has nothing to do with medieval dining. You are supposed to eat green salad and krautsalt with your hands. You get a lot better food in almost every Munich Wirtshaus. You have to book a musician, otherwise there is no music at all.
All in all only reason to give 1 star is that you cannot select 0
