Munich feels like a village in this part of the city. The Stemmerhof is a great place to grab a bite to eat, sit in the sun or shop local groceries with traditional Bavarian flair.

The Stemmerhof is a lovely place to spend some time in a nice area of Munich. The "Hof" lends itself well to many different occasions through its diverse spaces, shops and restaurants. Some of the reviews on here are in the wrong place as they relate to experiences of individual businesses, and not the Stemmerhof generally. The comment, for example, about not being child-friendly seems very unfair, and do not reflect the overall atmosphere, which is very welcoming to all. In fact recent additions of a play area (at the back) and an ice-cream truck - as well as efforts to free up space from cars, have made the Stemmerhof more popular than ever with families and children. The big model lions at the front are a highlight for young children, and make a nice photo opportunity! Definitely a highlight of this area of Munich and well worth a visit!

DEFINITELY NOT KIDS FRIENDLY! We were three couples with one kid each. First they asked us to tell them not to play with the puzzle (!!!! not with a ball, with a puzzle!!!!), then not to go around (the place was pretty empty), eventually they didn't take our order and asked us to leave. They did it in a very polite way, but I was still shocked that they did it. Shame on you Stemmerhof.

Great market area with a variety of stores. It used to be a dairy farm and has been converted into a market area with really nice restaurants, organic grocery store, bike shop and more.

i love this area, great meeting point, place to relax : good bio market, restaurant has good meals (breakfast and dinner) - street take away food, specialty bavarian shop .. all in all fantastic!

great selection of organic groceries - one of the best white sausages in town. main restaurant could be better
