One star is for awful customer service. During Corona restrictions, I wanted to support the restaurant by ordering takeaway online.
First, slightly bad experience: On Valentine's day, the takeaway capacity was reached, but no hint on the website, adding items to the order was just technically blocked without any comment. Only when I called was I told that no capacity was left. I fully understand capacities can be exhausted, but why not explain this on the website with a simple comment, instead of making the customer fiddle around with the ordering system, repeat the ordering process, try different browsers etc., thinking there could be a technical problem?
Second, extremely bad experience: Giving the restaurant a second chance, I ordered again the next day. This time the order went through fine, I was sent a confirmation email listing the food ordered correctly, and received a pickup time. But when I arrived there well on time, they had gotten the order wrong and included a dish that we absolutely didn't like instead of the one we ordered, and in addition desserts were missing. However, the woman dealing with customers there was very unfriendly, completely refused to acknowledge she made a mistake (let alone correct it), and insisted repeatedly and in an unfriendly tone that I must have "clicked wrong somehow" and tried to forced me to buy the dish that we didn't order or like. After about 5 minutes of attempting to calmly try and explain the facts to her, I had enough of her tone and stubbornness, simply left and ordered elsewhere, already having decided I would never come to Ö-Eins again. But they even managed to top their previous mistake by calling around twenty minutes later and trying to make me come and pick up "my" order (the one they had messed up in the first place...).
It's just incredible - making a clear mistake (I still have the confirmation mail to prove it) and - instead of apologizing and perhaps correct the mistake - trying to blame it on the customer! This place will not see me, or any of my family, ever again. I can only recommend everyone considering "Ö Eins" to instead go to "Tannengarten", just 50 meters away, a restaurant with quite similar cuisine (Bavarian instead of Austrian) but a significantly bigger selection and an incomparably higher degree of customer orientation.
