Unethical liars. My mother and I booked a rental from August 5 - August 30 for 2441 EUR, sadly my mother suddenly passed away on August 8 and I had to return to my country on August 9. I dropped off the car at the airport on August 9 and was informed that the company understands what happened and will fully refund the remaining days of the rental. It is now August 30, I have received no refund or update and have contacted the customer service team by email and they are informing me there will be no refund. Very shocked especially that I am a valued Sixt customer and have rented 3 cars from them this summer. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they are unethical and have lied to us.

Customer service not so great...we were lucky car was there but only when he asked me my name after entertaing 5 others had to wait for an hour for theirs. Also there was a €500 deposit which was not disclosed during reservation and you do not know when you get it back since NO RECEIPTS WERE ISSUED. The amount is just too much!

I was on holiday and my vehicle wasn’t available when I was told it would be ready and I had to change my travel plans to accommodate the delay. Upon returning the rental, no one was present at the desk and was required to wait for 1.75 hours, again, delaying my holiday. Clear return protocol would have been very helpful in advance. I enjoyed my rental, it ran smoothly, smelled nice, and was in excellent condition. I wish the customer service would have been better. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company for future business.

Sixt has flashy advertising but the rental performance was not so pleasing.

Registration was slow (30 minutes) and the agent tried to upsell heavily (it's not about the customers needs but his commissions I guess).

We did not get the model we booked, even though we found one parked in the garage. The car had a damage that we weren't informed about and the tank turned out not to be full.

In the end they tried to charge one extra day because the return time was not registered correctly by their service staff. EUR 220 non-contractual extra charges. Nice try!

Luckily we had proof. Resolving the issue was a troublesome process that took nearly two weeks because you can't talk to their customer service on the phone.

Well, at least the car was working...

Crooks of a company, avoid at all cost. This is not a car rental company, but a business trying to steal your money with the disguise of a rental car. After I returned the car back in July, the staff spent minutes thoroughly going through stretches to be able to charge you for a fee. They ended up noticing a very small scratch that I didn't see when i got the car. Considering we didn't hit or park anywhere close to someone, there was no way it was us. Then I return home and two months later, I get a bill for $1600 euros because they did an estimate. I guess they have their own body shop that are in the business of over-charging their customers. Will not use them ever again.

Bad experience. First off, don't prepay if you can because it costs minimum $100 to cancel (even days before reservation).

But second, the experience was awful. Waited in line the first time for 30m to be first offered a manual (but I paid extra for automatic). They did give an automatic but I got to the car and the oil light was on. Spent another half hour in line. By the time I got to the front again I just wanted to cancel since we'd likely be late for our day trip by now (I had only turned on the car to see the oil light and returned upstairs). I was told I'd be charged in full because I'd already agreed to the policy.

If you're traveling July or August 2022 in Germany, just get the 9 euro ticket and ride rail.

Sorry, no more than a 2 out of 5 starts, the experience was less than satisfying and just not good enough to engage in business with this place again. You may forget about getting the car at the booked price if you are onsite after your booking starts.
Checking in takes well over 10 minutes. Then you have to be prepared to navigate underground bunker garage without proper markings and risking being locked out if you get in the wrong corridor behind heavy doors. It took us 20+ minutes to get to the car and navigate out way out.
You will never know what car you will end up getting and witnessing other customers turned away as they missed the scheduled time is daunting experience. We were just lucky to get the "last available car in the garage".
Nothing wrong with the quality and tidiness of the cars though, that is a plus.
