Eating here was the best dining experience I have had in Germany and it is not close. It is a restaurant:
where you might order a plate with "mixed greens" (edit: I looked it up and it actually says "wild herbs") and find bites of mint leaf in there,
where the decor is warm and perfect and also there's a nice dog, behaving itself in the corner and seeming to feel at home,
the fish tastes fresh and proficiently cooked and seasoned, the latkes hot,
the portions are ample, but also it's tapas, so you can really get whatever strikes you,
where there's an English-language menu that makes sense, but also the staff will all talk to you in German and won't at all bust your chops about how you don't really speak German,
where the wine menu contains (AFAIK) no land mines waiting for the untrained; my (randomly chosen) wine tasted fresh and delicious.
This is an enthusiastic five stars. If I were to return to Munich with the love of my life, I would take her here on the last night.
