Bad experience with this agency. We used roadsurfer in France a couple of time in the past and all went well but the agency in Munich was a terrible exemple of what should not be done.
Very long check in, we had to wait until the team finished their personal drink and conversation on the sofa before someone came to us.
We got the van without any check in control.
After driving 2 hours to the dolomites, we noticed the fridge is out of service,
We called many times, they told us to wait a little bit longer, once arrived in the italian alps, they finally told us it s a problem they face often on the new VW Vans (but didn’t check obviously) … the only option we had was to drive back 7 hours and change the van, even though we took full insurances.
We spent 10 days summer trek with no fridge and had to send to trash butter, cheese and all fresh groceries that we got on departure.
They said they ll offer something after check out:
On the check out day, once we notified we had a problem with the fridge the employee took 40 min looking for any little scratch in and out of the van, to obviously charge us fees.
He couldn’t find any, even though he tryied to charge us old scratches (but we had photos of check in to proove it was there) facing that he couldn’t charge us,
He finally decided to say that the car was not clean enough so he can offer the cleaning, pretenting it is 100e for the cleaning.
The van was clean as we cleaned everything , of course there was dust on the front carpets, but not much more…. I had to tell him that it was unprofessional and very disrespectful to behave that way. It would have been more appropriate to just say sorry for the incident, if they didn’t want to compensate the inconvenience, instead of being so obviously unfriendly to avoid the client complain.
Roadsurfer can offer good or bad experience depending on the agency. The one in munich needs more control and a professional manager to manage this summer amateur team.
