Excellent place to grab something to eat and a cold beer in the heart of Munich. The menu covers all the basics of Bavarian cuisine and the beer they serve is from Augustiner-Bräu, the oldest brewery in Munich. I have eaten here several times and I can say that the quality of the dishes and service was always consistently good, friendly and helpful. They have a multinational staff, so getting along is relatively easy without facing the dreaded language barrier. Really looking forward to having another meal here.

Great service and food. Got the six piece pork sausage and potato salad, along with a side of sauerkraut. Everything tasted delicious. The waitress made a recommendation to try the local Augustine beer, which was exactly the kind of beer I like. Overall, would recommend. They have a great outdoor patio for the summer as well.

This was by far the best food I had in Munich. Originally went there for the Stadtwurst with sauerkraut. I wasn't a fan of sauerkraut before but this place changed my opinion. It was light, just vinegar-y enough, and seasoned perfectly.

Ended up going back on my last day to try the pork sausage, which I ended up enjoying even more. Would recommend this place to anyone who says they're heading that way.

Oh, and go at 5pm when the church bells are ringing. It adds a sense of awe to the atmosphere.

Sausage platter was great, loved all the 3 types of sausages. Service was also excellent and one of the best for english speaking tourists. The german white wine recommended by the waiter was tasty.

I recommend this place if you want to try good traditional Bavarian food without breaking the bank, we really enjoyed. Their traditionally made sausages are small ones, with toasted crunchy skin, once broken, there’s the sweet juice of the meat. Had my first kaiserschmarrn here and it was so good, eggy doughy with caramelised exterior, almonds and raisins. The applesauce wasn’t too sweet. Plus, the service was great; the waiter was very patient to recommend. Fantastic! Atmosphere wise we came at 6pm and it was not too noisy or boisterous

Location is excellent, but the food is bland. I ordered Glöck platter and the sauerkraut was barely sour, while the sausages were quite fatty. They sell the beer as "the best beer in Münich", but it's also quite bland, nothing special. Finally, I'm a big fan of apple strudel, but even that one disappointed. The vanilla sauce was also... you guessed it, very bland. I guess it's a good place for the vibe or maybe it's made to appeal to all tourists (hence the toned down flavors), but I've had better. Service was also rather rushed and rough. The waitresses treat everyone like a conveyor belt.

This is indeed a carnivore's haven.Typical Bavarian cuisine focuses heavily on bread, potatoes, sauerkraut and meat, especially pork. We were invited to try this locals and tourists' favourite. Looking at the menu, in their Tagesempfehlung(daily recommendations), there is a dish that caught my eye, meatless of course. Geschwenkte Bandnudeln mit frischen Champignons, Kirsch –Tomaten, Rucolapesto und geriebenem Parmesan was absolutely delicious and fulfilling. The rest of my dinner companions had a fair amount of meat with heaps of sauerkraut and beer. Ambiance: Large traditional restaurant with high ceilings and dark wood paneling on the walls. This place is boisterous and convivial, it is great for groups. Service is attentive and generally warm. Reservations: recommended as this place is so popular so do not expect to walk in and find a seat immediately.
