As an African-American male, I encounter a great deal of coldness and unfriendly, marginal customer service when traveling throughout Europe. When shopping or using hotels, I never know when I will receive a lower-standard of poor 'tolerant-instead-of-welcoming' customer service of the kind that it seems 'White' people are not subjected to. As my job entails delivering friendly, professional customer service, I know whereof I speak.
When I checked into this hotel, I was greeted by Fabian, who exhibited amazing customer service. Friendly, personable and professional. Really nice man. Example: when telling Fabian I had to leave for Budapest before breakfast began, he said he'd see about getting me coffee and something to eat. This was solid customer service of the kind that makes me want to patronize a businesa again. Was a rare treat, and a wonderful way to get settled before undertaking my exploration of München.
The building appears to be new, so everything was clean and comfortable. Elevator was in good working condition, though most of the time I take the stairs. For those who don't mind walking, the distance to the bahnof is not an issue; perhaps ten minutes or less?
Checking out proved to be the sort of experience that I'm used to: coldness, distance, unfriendly vibes. The male and female at the desk were the opposite of the engagement I had with Fabian. Might be helpful for the business if Fabian gave lessons on friendly, motivating customer service.
The breakfast spread was wonderful; a diversity of food and beverages. The lemon water was a nice and restorative treat. The staff in the eating area were very friendly, and I'm glad they were my final contact in the hotel before my departure.
I'd definitely recommend this establishment, especially when Fabian is working the front desk.
Note: Fans of döner should head up the street to Star Pizza. Again: wonderful customer service and great food.
