We really liked the size of our suite, and it’s inclusion of a dining table. We were located a bit far from the city, but the public transportation was reliable and easy to access. If you have a lot of luggage or need accessibility, then note that there are a lot of steps at the entrance and a tiny, narrow ramp. You cannot use the luggage cart on it, either, so prepare for that.
However, our last full day of our stay was a Sunday, and although I’m aware that Germany shuts down on Sundays, I wasn’t fully prepared for no reliable service in our hotel. Mid afternoon Sunday (maybe about 2pm), when we left our room, we noticed that housekeeping was in the corridor—with two carts and people working. When we returned we noticed that the room hadn’t been cleaned, so we called the front desk. The woman at the front desk answered that there was no housekeeping because it was Sunday and insisted that I hadn’t seen housekeeping earlier in the day. Finally, I gave up and was like “well can we at least have a change of sheets for the sofa bed” (it was a necessity), and the woman answered that she could only offer me bath towels. I clarified this with her several times and she repeated the same.
I’ve looked online to see if this is normal, if it’s typical that people can’t get housekeeping on Sundays at hotels in Germany/München, but I haven’t found anything. It seems that If restaurants and touristy things remain operating that perhaps one can reliable expect basic housekeeping (or at least a change of sheets could be given to the guest), but perhaps I’m missing some cultural nuance.
Also, the bar and restaurant were closed the entire 5 days we were there, which I wasn’t expecting. We tried calling room service, and there was no answer. Very disappointing, there’s no information about this posted or made known to the guests.
