As others pointed out, the bar is nice and good vibes. But as others pointed out too, the problem is the staff. We had the feeling this is a bar for 'their' customers, and new people are not generically very welcomed. A shame, cause we liked it. But they clearly didn't like us.

Although small, Maroto is a friendly hub for locals and outsiders alike. It’s just around the corner from several other popular bars but I suspect that few realise it even exists, being located on a quiet street. They serve excellent Coxinha for snack food. Try the Portuguese Sagres beer and take a moment to enjoy the unashamedly kitsch decor.

Super long waiting time for your drinks, completely overcrowded. Nice cocktails, but no way to find a place to sit to enjoy them. If that‘s your definition of a good time, fine, but not for me.

Dingy little Portuguese bar, but an awesome vibe and Latin cocktails worth trying for something different. It's very small so not always easy to find seating...

We called this the "crying boy bar" since that is the sign out front. Super friendly bartender. They had a DJ came in and started spinning some obscure classics.
