A well curated and interesting gallery with a wide range of historical and contemporary artists. They unfortunately were strict on the student pricing rules and would not allow registered students, only current students the discount, unlike most other art galleries. The building was well air conditioned and had many seats throughout the exhibit. I would’ve liked to see more direction on where each exhibit started and a better map of the exhibitions. Similarly some of the first floor exhibits did not feel like they had sufficient explanations or artist introductions, specifically for Joseph Beuys exhibit. Otherwise, there was a considerable amount of English translations throughout the exhibits. Would recommend to see more local and curated art.

Amazing art gallery ???? check the exhibitions before you are going there so you can get some infotmations. At the moment they have 2G+.

Three wonderful galleries. I suggest first the one about the Collective, then The Blue Rider, and Under The Open Sky. One visit was not enough, I need to come back to complete my learnings and appreciate more the exposition progressions. A must!

The museum is housed in two buildings, an old one and a modern wing, spanning several galleries.
It has one of the most prominent collections of the Blue Rider group art, specifically many Kandinsky pieces, as well as other members of the movement.

One of my favorite Munich museums. Great collection of Blaue Reiter and sometimes fantastic temporary expositions.

Great museum, I spent 3.5 h there. Everybody working there was helpful and really nice. Lot to see for a good price. I got a student discount (student of art and art education). You can take photos but no flash. I recommend downloading the free app to listen to while visiting the museum and looking at the artworks.

Modern art of various themes. A lot of Kadinski pieces that are pretty good but the rest left us flat. Others might find the art much more appealing. We went only because we had a couple extra hours.
