What I needed when going to Munich, was simply a place to stay with my friends for a couple days. We decided to go with Hotel Tessin because of its closeness to the city and the affordable price. We got there and we noticed the place was quite out of date, as in the interior design of the lobby, however the rooms were nice. They use papers instead of computers for their paperwork which I haven’t seen in years. I thought the room was really nice and did the job. The only issue I had with staying there is the fact they told us that breakfast was going to be on in mornings, serving all kinds such as eggs, bacon, sausage and a buffet. When we got to the breakfast it was some fruit, ham and some bread. I remember thinking, there is no way I’m paying €7 for this?? We had a big day ahead! I asked the guy at reception and he said that today it wasn’t possible to make eggs but tomorrow there will be. We found out later that they had actually discounted us on this breakfast which was nice of them.
As well as that, there were three of us in the hotel room and we asked the guy at reception (different from the guy earlier) if we could have another towel for our room as we were only given two body towels. The guy at reception responded in a hostile way, asking me if the towel was for my feet, or my body, or my hands? I remember he came across as very creepy to me and my friends and went out of the hotel feeling hairs on neck. We never got the extra body towel.
I don’t know if I’d recommend this place to a friends to be honest, I think if it’s for one night and you need to be in Munich for a job, sure why not, but I wasn’t blown away. Good for the price of the place.
