Hotel am Viktualienmarkt

This hotel was the perfect location, right next to Viktualienmarkt. On our 2 previous trips to Munich we had stayed near the Hauptbahnhof. This location was 1000 times better.

The room was reasonably priced. The breakfast was delicious and the perfect way to start a day of sightseeing. Staff was friendly.

My husband, teenage son and I stayed in a triple room. All the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space in the room. There was no air conditioning in the room, but there were two fans and the windows opened nicely. I was concerned about noise at night, but it was not an issue. We were comfortable with the temperature, but it was only in the 70s outside when we were there.

I would definitely stay here again.

This is a great hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Tasty breakfast. Very convenient location.

Our family of four (2 teenage boys) had a wonderful visit to Munich and a great stay at Hotel am Viktualienmarkt. The small hotel was in a central location making walking very easy. We booked two double rooms. The included cold breakfast was an easy start for the day. The staff was kind and very helpful with our travel plans. We would gladly stay on a return visit.

Lovely little hotel with fantastically comfortable beds and pillows, and the location is really good, in a quiet neighborhood, close to everything.
The breakfast is decent enough and the staff is friendly.
We didn't have a tea kettle in our room but the reception kindly gave as one upon request.

Great location close to the market and Marienplatz and public transportation. Room was clean and comfortable. The week we visited Munich was rather warm and the hotel did not have air conditioning, but did have a small oscillating room fan. Smoking is quit prevalent in Europe and so open windows can introduce smoke to the room. Elevator a little tight, but okay. Breakfast was good but one of the smaller buffets of the three hotels we've stayed at in Munich.

Excellent location if you want to be near Viktualienmarkt and Marienplatz area. Short walk for U and S Bahn. The hotel was clean, staff friendly and breakfast generous. Rooms were not fancy but well maintained. My bathroom was surprisingly spacious. We had trouble getting the front hotel door unlocked (they lock front door at 10pm). Great dining, beer and shopping close by.

An average accommodation, but well located in the Viktualienmarkt and very close to the Neues Rathaus. I guess you really are paying high-prices for the location here. The rooms were tight, the shower leaked on the floor, the elevator was awkward and the reception staff were very ‘business-like’. The room attendants were great though. The breakfast was your usual fare e.g. bread, pastries, cold meats and boiled eggs. The coffee machine was quite good and saved having to buy one of a morning though. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again and would probably stay in a more modern hotel and use the highly efficient S-Bahn u0026 U-Bahn. Of note, it is easier to get off at the Isartor Bahnhof if wheeling suitcases as the pathway is smooth all the way to the hotel.
