The building was supposed to be demolished in 2026, but they've pushed this building's demolition back to 2030, still it's obviously in bad shape. Clearly the hotelier won't bother investing in the upkeep of a property that's going to be demolished soon. It's old, dingy, dirty and simply a dated eyesore. If rooms were half the price I'd shrug it off as getting what you paid for, but the rates are quite high given the state of the place.
The shower had black mold on the ceiling. The balcony, which had no furniture at all for some reason, had visible cracks in it's foundation and rusted railings. There are stains in the carpets, holes in the curtains and a musty smell in the halls. I booked a room with a kitchenette, and yet there were no pots or even silverware available.
Again, none of these issues will be remedied, as Marriott clearly won't bother to fix a property that is set for demolition. Still, they could at least let the price reflect the disheveled nature of the place.
