Very nice beer garden with a long history in the middle of Munich. Have been here a number of times over the years and have never been disappointed. Was very surprised to see how accommodating this place is for children, for instance there is a very large wooden playground in the main garden, which was great for the kids that were there.
Service in the restaurant was fantastic as was the selection of food and of course beer. In the self service area, the offering was just as good and the location to eat and drink your heart away was superb.
I will definitely be back when I am next in town. Keep up the great work!

The food was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely in the evening. The beer garden section looks like a raucous place to spend a Saturday afternoon. Sadly the server was a bit aggressive when asking for the gratuity, which I have never really experienced in Germany. Still worth a visit for tourists. It’s outside of altstadt but easily accessible on the street car.

Great place to get a German beer garden experience! This place is huge on the inside, it could probably seat hundreds of people if not more. I loved the atmosphere here, we went at night, and we could hear sounds of laughter and conversation and live music all around us. The beer I had here was the first beer I've ever tried that I actually thought tasted good. The service was friendly as well. I don't remember much about the food, which might have something to do with the beer.

As beer gardens go... This is ranked in the top of the list. It is nestled in the heart of the city. It looks small from the entrance but is massive when you enter, there is no shortage of seating. It's only an 8 minute walk from the main station (Hauptbahnhof). It has a beautiful seating area outside with a big playground for the kids. Food looked amazing but I was there for the beer ????

Very very recommended! I think it is less touristic than in the downtown. The beer is great. The food is super tasty, with fair prices. Short, understandable, also in English. The service is very helpful, speaking English. I would say with much more modern approach, however with a huge history. I think it was established like in 1360. There is a cellar, where a lot of tables. You can be sorted next to other clients and just join them in drinking beer. At the ground floor there is more traditional environment. I recommend to do a reservation! Strudel is super tasty, actually as anything else.

The atmosphere in this restaurant is amazing! I come here with my family and we all loved it. It was our first time there and our waiter recommended the lager, it was so good! We easy threw back 5 with our dinner. I had the salmon which was the best I’ve had in a long time. My family member had the Jungschweinebraten which is roasted pork neck with potato dumplings.

The food was great and they had live, traditional music. The service was a bit slow and they didn't give us a chance to order a drink at last call. Then, they were pretty pushy about tipping zeroing in on us being American. Overall, I recommend it, but just be aware that the service might not be top notch.
