The new church of St.Anna small but with the same inside architecture as of Asam Church. the exterior façade is ordinary but the church is full of paintings and sculptures even though it is small. it faces the Old big church of St.Anna and serves French masses for the French Munich community.

The Abbey Church of St. Anna is a small Rococo style building that is worth checking out if you plan to be in the Lehel area of Munich. It is located just across the street from the large Romanesque church also by the name of St. Anna.

The exterior is a simple and unassuming facade. Enter the church are treated to a decadent Rococo style architecture, the works of Munich based Asam brothers and Johann Baptist Straub. There are nice altars and frescos worth spending a few minutes to enjoy.

Combine a visit here with St. Anna im Lehel (Parish Church of St. Anna) just across the street. You can comfortably visit both in 30 minutes time, then continue onward with other intended sightseeing.

The church is beautiful! It belongs to the french catholic community in Munich. Definitely worth a visit!
