My little sister stays in Ulmenweg dorms,
Despite the cold weather the dorms are making sure that the heaters are not working, that too in the night when temperature falls to 6°C.

My sister along with several other students are facing this issue. They are unable to sleep well, and considering the study load and the additional stress, as an International student, this is totally unfair, heaters should atleast be functional upto 2 to 2.5 so that kids can sleep in peace and work hard on their future. Afterall Youth is the future.

STW didn't care to give a response to my sister yet.

As per the German Law Heating season starts on October 1st.

Despite that the heaters are not working. I can understand the energy crisis, and as an Individual i make sure I use as little energy as possible at home. However, heaters should atleast be functional upto 2.0 which would allow us to sleep in peace.
I shiver in the morning due to cold, its been 7-8 days and I haven't slept nicely. Today, I had difficulty in focusing in my maths/economics class. I am almost sure it is was because of poor sleep for several days. Throughout the day i don't use the heaters, (they are not functional either way).

It is a shame that STW mannheim cannot even provide this very very basic necessity to students.
And I am not the only one complaining, many of my friends who come from warmer climates, such as africa, india etc. All face the same issue, they are just getting by somehow.

I was SCAMMED to pay for existing damage in student hostel. This happened two years ago but I am sharing this with everyone so that nobody will be scammed the same way I did.
When I moved into the hostel in 2016, I was required to sign a form, stating that everything is working fine. The room is clean and empty but it is NOT newly renovated. The sink has some patched crack but since it was already repaired, I didn't file a report.
However, when I moved out in 2020, they claimed that I caused a crack on the sink and will deduct 229,70 Euro from my caution. I asked for a detailed invoice and it was reduced to 125€ due to a "mistake". Nice try! ???? I argued that the crack was already there and patched since the beginning but they denied it. They said I didn't made a claim in 2016 (LOL! Am I responsible to document any repairs made prior to my move-in? ). Also they denied the fact that the sink was not new when I moved in. This is how I got scammed 125€ for their dishonesty.
