5* doesn't give any justice on how mind-blowing is this restaurant. Yes, it's bib gourmand recommended (that's how I found them), so something special was expected, but they surpassed all my expectations by lightyears (and I know that lightyear actually means time ????).

We spent an amazing evening there, we were treated with the best essence of hospitality, catering and culinary art and I'm still crying from joy when I think about it.

Our waiter defied his young age - my friend didn't make his work easy but he was fully on par with him even in the jokes and they ended up in rounds of entertaining conversations as the evening progressed. He hasn't stopped being extremely attentive and polite while still staying relaxed and informal. Excellent start for sure.

I went for the Menu III, which was all vegetarian (while I'm not ????), because I was curious.

2 appetizers were also included - good start for testing the waters, but even only one week later I don't really remember what they were beyond being delicious.

What I do recall is the first course - and how surprised we both were. For me it was melon in a very toned down garnish (sorry for the heavy-handed simplification) - nice harmonies, different materials combined but nothing really extraordinary.

Looking back, I'm pretty sure we were tricked there, fooled to believe that there's nothing to be seen here: it's a decent restaurant with a capable chef, we eat a nice dinner but we forget it 2 days later.

And that's exactly what NOT happened, but quite the opposite: the main course arrived and whatever was kept at bay until that point, was unleashed. I'm brave enough to admit: I cried from the joy, what the main course (grilled eggplant is not supposed to be this heavenly) and the dessert (cheese plates are not supposed to be this unbelievable) caused inside me. Flavours, textures, colours, temperatures whirled in perfect, complementing harmony - all of our senses were under this amazing, flawlessly orchestrated and delivered attack and I didn't want it to end.

I was lucky enough to eat in a few Haute cuisine places already, but this evening at Michaelis will be my new personal benchmark. The strongest (let alone a sole) reason for visiting Leipzig from now on - thank you!

Amazing experience from the beginning to the end. The place is beautiful, the service is kind and attentive. The food is outstanding. Wonderfully executed, beautifully presented, delicious flavours.

But consistently a fine selection of products and extravagant taste experiences, right down to Bavarian cream for dessert.

In addition, perfectly matched wines, and even the table water was a hit.

In addition to the outstanding cuisine with the creative dishes, the service was excellent, competent and quick. The fact that the Maître at the next table spoke French with the greatest naturalness and routine is the dot on the i.

The whole package was right - the quality of the food and drinks, the freshness, the creative composition, the taste and the personal touch in the service at eye level. Just perfect.

The Michaelis is clearly marching straight in the direction of the * restaurant.

Waren Anfang August mit dem Wunsch ins Restaurant Michaelis gekommen, einen schönen Abend mit guten Speisen und Getränken zu haben. Bingo! Es war ein wunderschönes Erlebnis auf der geschmackvoll hergerichteten und angenehm ruhigen Terrasse.

Haben zwei der drei aktuellen Menüs gewählt - exquisit zubereitet, angerichtet und serviert. Schwer zu sagen, was davon am besten war – vielleicht die besondere Raffinesse der Maräne mit Fenchel. Durchweg aber eine feine Produktauswahl und geschmacklich extravagante Erlebnisse bis zur Bayerischen Creme als Dessert.

Dazu bestens abgestimmte Weine, und selbst das Tafelwasser war der Hit.

Außer der herausragenden Küche mit den kreativen Gerichten war der Service vorzüglich, kompetent und flink. Dass der Maître am Nachbartisch mit der größten Selbstverständlichkeit und Routine Französisch parlierte, ist dann noch der Punkt auf dem i.

Das ganze Paket hat gestimmt – die Qualität der Speisen und Getränke, die Frische, die kreative Zusammenstellung, der Geschmack und die persönliche Note im Service auf Augenhöhe. Einfach perfekt.

Das Michaelis marschiert ganz offenbar schnurstracks in Richtung *-Restaurant.

Es war wirklich ein toller Abend mit einem angenehm freundlichen Service, einer guten Weinbegleitung und vor allem einer wirklich sehr starken Küche!

Wir haben das Restaurant durch Zufall als Empfehlung im Guide Michelin entdeckt und spontan einen Tisch reserviert. Einen Stern hätte es sich - m.M.n. - mindestens verdient.

Wir hatten hier unser Probedinner für die Hochzeit und es hat mich unglaublich bestätigt.
Das Restaurant ist eher schlicht eingerichtet, jedoch ist der Service überragend gut.
Wir trinken eigentlich kein Alkohol, hatten jedoch auch unsere Weinverkostung durch die wir gut durchgeführt wurden und tolle Informationen und Tipps erhielten.
Das Beste jedoch war das Essen. Definitiv das leckerste was ich bisher gegessen habe und dazu noch schön angerichtet.
Definitiv ein Grund mehr die Hochzeit nicht mehr erwarten zu können.
Ich kann es jedem nur empfehlen und es ist jeden Cent wert.
