It was our first, and will not be the last visit to Mifune. We knew about the restaurant after asking some locals on a Facebook group and were not disappointed at all.

The service is friendly and the chefs are Japanese, which is already a sign of quality for me. The price is indeed higher than most Japanese restaurants here, but there is no way you can compare those with Mifune quality. Therefore, we were really surprised to see this amazing restaurant had only 4 full tables on a Friday evening.

Vegans are often put off with thr idea of visiting a Japanese restaurant, but please fear not at Mifune because they have amazing selections of vegan dishes. Even the tofu itself tastes heavenly, so simple yet full of authentic natural soy bean flavor. The udon with tofu skin was so yummy that we couldn't leave a single slurp of broth left. We just wished that the bowl was in a circle shape for easier slurping action.

The sushi, oh dear, the sushi we ordered were: tuna in soy sauce nigiri, unagi or eel nigiri, flying fish roe, pickled radish and a mixed roll. The highlight was absolutely the unagi nigiri, which is just slightly tiny bit fishy, but sooo fatty creamy and sweet in its sweet soy sauce. It was delectable. Nowhere have I found such a great piece of unagi until now!! The pickled radish sushi was a bit salty for me, but my hubby loved it. All raw ingredients are super fresh and not fishy at all.

And of course we cannot end our meal without a dessert. Or 2. One Japanese honey pancake with matcha tea and a portion of ice mochi. Ice mochi was completely a win, and the waitress was so careful that she told us to wait for it to thaw a little bit before munching it down to our full stomach. The pancake is interesting, and I love the sweet red bean filling. The pancake is overwhelmed withhoney flavor which I am not a big fan of.

Mifune also offers performace dinner which is really interesting, according to what I saw at our neighbor table. Full of flames and nice smell uhmmm.

In conclusion, we would love to make Mifune known more to people, because we cannot afford to support them every week! And of course we want them to stay strong and keep their amazing quality so we can visit them from time to time! Visit them! You will not regret!!!

The food at Mifune was very nice. I went with a friend right after Christmas and the restaurant was almost empty. That said: the service was a disappointment. Too slow and rather bad communication skills. We both felt this could be done much better in such a small restaurant. I would normally deduct 2 points for it but the food was really good.

Excellent food, great ambiance and as well as very attentive staff. Chefs and kitchen staff are Japanease. The good was all high quality, well served and delicious. Tappan yaki table on weekend days require reservation. Did know about it, so, unfortunately, I missed the live cooking. Still, saw it how it's done and it impressed me a lot. Will have to book it ahead next time round. The food is a bit on the pricy side (nothing for ppl seeking looking all you can eat low budget menus), however, given the quality of food and service it's all fine.

Absolutely great japanese Sushi restaurant, where the master prepares the food at the table if you want. Super friendly staff! Prices are pretty high compared to other places, but it is totally worth it!

I can't tell much about the restaurant as I didn't get the opportunity to try it, however, the three starts rating is for a reason. About 10 days ago I wanted to take a friend on his birthday to this restaurant after learning from the internet that they are one of the few places in Leipzig that offered teppanyaki. So we traveled all the way to Leipzig from Halle, just to find out the restaurant is closed for the whole week. On google it said clearly that the restaurant was open until 11pm. If the restaurant owner can utilize platforms like google maps to advertise the interior and their dishes with photographs, the least they could do was to be a bit responsible and update their opening hours accordingly on google, to avoid inconvenience for the customers.

High quality sushi, fish is just right. Professional service, very unobtrusive yet attentive. Teppan yaki tables to the rear. Relaxed atmosphere, good music. Salads vary. Soy sauce lacks a bit of intensity. In all, a very good experience. Ironically, Jp. clients tend to overdrive conversation volume, feeling quite at home. But that's better than any Kneipe.
Oh, if anyone wants vegetables only, no need to go to a sushi u0026 teppan yaki restaurant. It's not meant to be. Yaki, btw, means meat. lol. Even green health driven itsu in London offers chicken.
