An absolute recommendation in Kassel! A very nice, quite small (better to reserve upfront!) and cozy restaurant at the "Willi" Avenue. The concept is to source and serve sustainable and really regional (max 50km) ingredients. And this concept runs like a red thread through the menu. The dishes from the menu are presented very nicely and with love to details and of course are super tasty! The prices are completely fine and appropriate and the staff is super friendly as well. And the probably best thing is that everything takes place in a relaxed and "come as you are" atmosphere - no obligation to wear a gala wardrobe, rather dress how you feel good.
So all in all definitely worth a visit once in Kassel. The kitchen has not yet been awarded a star rating, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case soon.

Uncomplicated yet sophisticated and surprising. We were sitting next to the open kitchen and it was clear that it's a great team of people working there, with fantastic chemistry. So not only I wished "keep the dishes coming" but also "hire me!". Thank you for the great evening!

Wow, this is a gem! It's super casual (guests are greeted by the German "Du") yet highly sophisticated gourmet cooking. The styling of the restaurant is cosy, the food presentation is beautiful with a nod to Japanese minimalism, yet underneath the cooking sits a deep understanding and appreciation of flavours. The menu is a surprise and will be revealed only afterwards (unless you insist to see it before) and fittingly, just lists cornerstone ingredients - underlining that the cook's philosophy seems to be to help excellent ingredients shine (the back of the menu proudly lists the hand-picked suppliers) rather than stealing them the show. Each dish will surprise you with the genius of juxtaposed flavours - a grape amongst the beans, cucumber sorbet in a bed of yogurt foam with white chocolate, and I luckily treated myself to the optional extra course combining a miso bread ice-cream with hazelnut oil - and render you utmost happy and delighted. The first of many starters exemplified the kitchen's modest genius as the waiter happily told me that this day they finally had collected enough breadcrumbs (from cutting the delicious slices served with the meal) to stuff a week's supply of cherry tomatoes. Servers don't "own" tables but throughout the evening, you'll most likely get to meet each member of the large and enthusiastic team who all will serve you from their heart. The wine pairing was en par with the food - e.g., the main came with a unique reddish champagne. And to boot, never have I found a restaurant as welcoming to solo guests as this one! Mondi therefore is not only a highlight to any visit of the city but very well worth a stop when you are passing by Kassel (the ICE line stops in Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe)!

We loved everything about this café! The atmosphere, the deco, the staff and most important, the food! Would definitely go back to enjoy all their brunch choices .

Amazing experience at the Mondi restaurant! Local products, great concept (white card menu), really fair price for the quality you get and all of this served by an excellent service; was a long time for me not having such a nice moment in restaurant. I can only recommend!
