The most “German” food I had during my whole Germany stay. I got the sauerbraten below, my friends ordered a couple of other dishes like schnitzel and veal, which were also equally as great. Beers are cheap. Someone was playing on the live piano, which was nice and got people singing. The only downside I’d say is there was no circulation up in this whole place! It was cold outside but the restaurant was hot and stuffy!

Amazing food. Amazing service. One of the highlights of our trip to Heidelberg because of the food but mostly our waiter. Recommended

Just another Scheffel’s outlet literally next door to the Kulturbrauerei, but with an atmosphere that ticks a few more of my boxes. An elderly gentleman on the piano and people going ohh ahh over strudels. Nice!

Great atmosphere and even better food. A bit more pricey, but worth it. They had a piano player and after a while a group of local guys (8 or 9) gathered at a table, bars in hand, and sang along. Fun!

Worth noting that any bookings taken for the summer are then accommodated at Kulturbrauerei just around the corner - this threw us a little when we arrived to find the shutters down! Once we found the new destination we enjoyed a great meal and some excellent beer. We were promised some German folk music with our original booking which didn’t materialise
