Old place with great character, food, and service. Try the Ox Cheeks and you won’t be disappointed. While inside, you will forget about the hustle and bustle on the street and the shops just outside the front door.

Look at the recent 1 star reviews and they tell you the story. It is the first time when I felt I should've walked out without paying.

Stale meat, a baked potato that was hard, a schnitzel that was below average, etc. A party of four, we've left half of the meal on the plate.

The service was poor, no attention to details when we were one of the very few customers.

In hindsight, the empty front tables when all the other restaurants were buzzing should've alerted us.

The beer was decent.

The place was huge and had a slightly medievale tone, overall a very nice place to drink in the evening! However, I had to take a star away, because I wish they had more vegan options on the menu of the restaurant ;)

The place is very authentic, and it's worth to check it out and feel its history. The food is OK, they have german traditional cuisine. If there was possibility, I would rate it between 3.5.

I was a bit disappointed of the overall food experience. Service was standard, could of definitely been better for a party of 9. Two "house speicals" were ordered for 22 euro they definitely cheeped out on portion and quality, a few chop with nothing but fat. They claim to have awards... from 2007!! This experience might be the reason why they don't have any awards today. If I'm looking for German food on the Main street this might not be the spot for me.
