Poseidon is the best place in Heidelberg for authentic Greek food. After 20+ trips all over the Greek mainland and the islands, I know good Greek food when I have it, and Poseidon has it! It is also the perfect place for a small group birthday party, New Year's Eve celebration or other special occasions because the atmosphere is so cozy and just very intimate. The seating is spread out nicely, so that you have a little privacy and are not crammed up against other people. They also have a super friendly staff, and the decoration and background music is tasteful. Combined with the outstanding food, we always have a good time there.

If you really crave greek food, I'd suggest you go all the way to Greece cause trust me it wouldn't take you much longer considering that we had to wait (sowieso) for 1.5 Hours just to get our food!!
It is worldwide known that appetizers are served before the main dish. In our wonderful experience with this restaurant it came just when we were about to finish our main dishes ???? I certainly can't imagine how hard it was to put a few olives on a plate and heat up a piece of bread.
The food is definitely not suitable for blood pressure patients, if we took in consideration the amount of salt added. And if you're the type of person to expect a marvelous variety of drinks, please don't, cause you wouldn't find a menu for that :)
Ps. I just want to make it clear that we went to the restaurant on 31.12 (new year), in case it makes any difference for you!

OMG the best Greek food every thing I've eaten there including my friends and family it was fabulous and delicious also their Greek wines are wonderful my only regret is I can only eat there when I'm in my hometown Heidelberg Germany I wished I could take them with me because they're no really great Greek food restaurants here in the States at least not like this place. ????☺????????????????????

Very good Greek restaurant in the Weststadt. Friendly owner who has been running the place for 25+ years, and delicious food that's just right for an evening with friends or a significant other. Definitely recommended.
