We have spent a night at this hotel and it was amazing. The hotel is located directly at the beginning of the Main Street of Heidelberg. The room was clean and well occupied. The personal was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was awesome. I really like my stay there. The only thing is that they don’t have a parking place but fortunately there is a parking near by. I would recommend it.

The Goldene Rose it’s a real cosy hotel in the historical centre of Heidelberg. The room was silent, very clean and well equipped, with a wide view on the hills. Breakfast was tasteful with a large choice of food such as breads, marmalades, fruits.. The reception staff was very kind and available 24/24. I really enjoyed my stay there.

This hotel on first appearance seems a little tired but grew to really appreciate it after 4 days. Very well located on the edge of old Heidelberg, large clean and very quiet rooms, fabulous breakfasts and helpful staff. So if you can overlook the 1960,s decor this hotel is great

Breakfast was average. During breakfast the attention for the guests was minimal. During breakfast the staff were cleaning the mirrors on the walls while guests were trying to get the attention of the staff for more coffee or glasses for juice. Check in was friendly. Parking a nightmare. Good location for the inner city but leave your car at home.

The hotel is located the heart of Heidelberg. Very good and expensive buffet breakfast. But the room is very small with minimum comfort. After the night ,I felt very tired because uncomfortable bed. The air conditioner is not in the room and the room itself is very, very small. Parking is just for 3-4 cars.

I have been to this hotel 4 times since January 2012. The place offers a very good value for the money. Don't book online, don't use any booker, just call them directly you get a much better rate.
The hotel is situated at the beginning of the Hauptstrasse, so in no time you will be right in the heart of the old town, near Bismark Platz you get any bus or tram. There are plenty of good restaurants all around (the hotel has no dinner). The hotel breakfast buffet is as good as many of the 4-stars hotel I have been to (visited more than 20 different countries in 2012).

Coffee/Tea maker in the room, flat screen TV with good selection of channels (if you care about it, I don't).

Only cons: spotty WiFi, in some rooms you get disconnected too easily.

Altogether: highly recommended.

Nice hotel with very good breakfast. Received a room upgrade as we had to use an external parking garage. Can recommend it to everyone...
