The good: Fantastic location, very large room with table, 4 chairs, long bathroom counter with two sinks, small sofa.
The bad: As was stated in recent previous review - I've never stayed anywhere with less hours of access to a person to ask questions than this place which is frustrating. I've never heard of a hotel in which one uses an atm type machine in the foyer to check in - and the machine issues your room key card. Not to bad if you know about it but I had to be told, and then I had to assist some other newly arriving guest that evening who was locked out, who was standing next to the machine, wondering why he could not enter the hotel. And since there is no one in the hotel reception, if an arrival is confused by the machine or the information it requires, they are out of luck. I believe a hotel this large should always have someone at the front desk. The automation idea may have seemed a money saver, but these are the reviews that will result (along with no iron, no complimentary coffee at reception area, etc). There is no air conditioning but this is an old building and I don't know what others have - maybe many are like this. It's probably just fine in cooler weather though - there are heaters below each window.
The hotel response to the previous review also affected my opinion of this place when I read it 5 minutes ago. Arrogant. Hotel rooms should at least have their own safe, particularly when there is no one at reception for a significant portion of the day to ask about locking things up as was suggested in the response. Anyway, I don't want to ask a hotel clerk to lock up my passport or cash. A guest should not have to do that. Note that they have a luggage room in case you need to drop bags before the 4pm check in, but it isn't locked and with no one at reception to watch the room, I could have gone through many suitcases in there besides just dropping and picking up my backpack.
