This is probably the hardest review I have written. I am trying to be as objective as I can.
It's more of an Animal Theme Park instead of a Educational/Conservation kind of Zoo. Personally, I felt that some of the animals don't really have enough space to move around (this is subjective of coz, I am no expert to know or have the background to know how much space an animal may need). But, from my view some of these animals look sad due to the restricted space.
But from an animal theme park point of view for children, it is amazing. My child loves the boat ride. Thus, it comes to the point where I find the ticket is extremely expensive (especially annual ticket). Much more than zoos from much bigger city such as Hamburg, Munich, Berlin, Erfurt, Frankfurt.... Etc... Like a lot more expensive. Hence, I expected more from the Erlebnis zoo.
Another point is the toilet facilities -- in some area such as the public toilet at Yukon town within the zoo perhaps need an upgrade. It's old and smelly.
I think a lot more need to be thought out and improved if the zoo wants to charge over €200 for annual family ticket.
Last but not least a huge thumb up for the staff. They are incredibly helpful and friendly making everything a lot nicer. So, I have very mixed feelings after this visit.
