Regarding the kitchen: the further you move away from the typical tapas like muslitos, the better it is! They can really cook there. Tips: goat cheese wrapped in bacon, fried boquerones and everything that comes with the Roquefort sauce. I haven't found anything there that doesn't taste good or is poorly crafted.

Overall, the Canon offers exactly the special experience I expect from a restaurant visit. It's always like a short trip to Spain!

Der Laden an sich: Eine urige, gemütliche Einrichtung. Die Atmosphäre ist insgesamt familiär und freundlich. Es kann dort recht lebhaft zugehen, wer zu einem gesitteten Stylo-Spanier mit modernster Deko und ruhiger Lounge-Musik möchte, ist dort falsch. Der offene, schlagfertige Humor der im Service arbeitenden Damen ist fast schon Kult.

Zur Küche: Je weiter sie sich von den typischen Tapas wie Muslitos entfernt, desto besser ist sie! Die können da wirklich kochen. Tipps: Ziegenkäse im Speckmantel, Boquerones frittiert und alles, was es mit der Roquefortsoße gibt. Habe dort bisher nichts gefunden, dass nicht schmeckt oder handwerklich schwach ist.

Insgesamt bietet das Canon genau das besondere Erlebnis, das ich von einem Restaurantbesuch erwarte. Ist immer wie ein kurzer Trip nach Spanien!

The seating outside is not for tall or even heavy people and the wax tablecloth was long past its best. It took forever before we got a menu, guests at the next table who had come after us had already been served their drinks. The food was nothing special, very salty and with an incredible amount of garlic. It used to be so much better! Paella and scallops were not available because the oven is broken. After the meal we were again left dry, at some point it was no longer possible to order a drink. So we asked for the bill multiple times. After nobody came, we went to the restaurant to pay. Conclusion: really a shame, that used to be our favorite restaurant in Hanover ????

Wir kennen das Lokal schon sehr lange und waren immer total begeistert, von dem leckeren Essen. Dieses Mal waren wir leider sehr enttäuscht. Die Bestuhlung außen ist nichts für große oder gar schwere Menschen und die Wachstischdecke hatte die besten Zeiten längst hinter sich. Es dauerte ewig, bis wir eine Karte bekamen, Gäste am Nebentisch, die nach uns gekommen waren, hatten inzwischen schon ihre Getränke serviert bekommen. Das Essen war nichts besonderes, sehr salzig und mit unglaublich viel Knoblauch. Das war früher sehr viel besser! Paella und Jacobsmuscheln waren nicht verfügbar, weil der Backofen defekt ist. Nach dem Essen saßen wir erneut auf dem Trockenen, eine Getränkenachbestellung war irgendwann nicht mehr möglich. Daher haben wir die Rechnung mehrfach angefordert. Nachdem niemand kam, sind wir zum Zahlen in das Restaurant gegangen. Fazit: wirklich schade, das war früher mal unser Lieblingslokal in Hannover ????
