Mit dem großangelegten Umbau ???? von zuvor bereits repräsentativer Gebäude, ist das ja so eine Sache die zumeist nicht gut ausgeht. Betrachtet man jedoch alte Fotografien des 1874/75 erbauten Kontorhauses am Rödingsmarkt Nr. 52, so stellt man fest, das erst die im Jahre 1922 erfolgte Aufstockung um vier Staffelgeschosse, dem Gebäude zu seiner heutigen Pracht verholfen hat ????. (*) Verweist der Stern über Neptuns Haupt zwar auch auf den Bauherrn die Stella-AG, so dürfte er sich in diesem Zusammenhang jedoch in erster Linie auf "Stella Maris" beziehen, also auf den "Stern des Meeres", die Mutter Jesu, Schutzpatronin der Seeleute. Die vier Segelschiffe unter dem Schriftzug hingegen, von denen eines "Hamburg" heißt ⚓, verdeutlichen selbstverständlich das Tätigkeitsfeld des Handels dieser Reederei.
