I have been multiple times, great food and great atmosphere. Wonderful traditional German cuisine, sometimes with an Italian special, thanks to the owners. Die Gurke is a widely-loved Hamburg institute. Perfect for lunch, dinner or just drinks. Especially when combined with a walk at the Alster lake nearby.

Pretty place. Simple and delicious food. Great service. Always nice to pass by there even for just pint.

Good local watering hole for men. You may bump into local trade aristocracy, classic musicians ( Uni nearby ), intellectuals, creative ad people, lawyers architects etc... and the occasional football fan.
