Highly recommended!! Traditional atmosphere with nice decoration! I ate the schnitzel which was delicious and was brought with also delicious potatoes and cucumber salad. All very tasty! Also the draught beer was tasty and at the correct temperature! Apart from the delicious dinner though Martina, the waitress, is a wonderful lady who made my dinner much more fun with her knowledge, stories and personality!! Many thanks, that's one dinner I will remember for a long time!

Would not recommend this place. The food was average and the service was appalling. First, the waiter got the ordered wrong and when the wrong dish came, he insisted that he was right and was extremely reluctant to replace it. So we had to take the wrong dish. He offered to give one of our group a free drink later for compensation but never came and follow it up. For the rest of the meal we never saw him again and no other waiters came to our table at all. We had to go up to the bar to ask for the bill. When we reminded him of the drink, he eventually brought it over along with the bill. When he gave us the bill, he told us that the restaurant had not included any service charge but it was German custom that the customer should pay a tip. We settled the bill by card as there was no option to add tip in the card machine. When we were about to tip in cash, the other waiter came to tell us that we need to pay a tip to reflect the service that she and her colleague had provided us. We decided to tell her that the service had been appalling and that the fact that she and her colleague insisted, we felt forced and decided not to pay. At this point, she just walked away. The food was ok, not better than any other beer house in Hamburg. But this gave us such a bad impression that it ruined our last moments in Hamburg.

Delicious food at a great price. Amazing atmosphere. For an American tourist looking for an authentic plate of German food from Hamburg, this is the place to eat. Yum

We returned here several times during our stay in Hamburg because it was so consistently fun - great food at reasonable prices, super friendly service and it has a ton of character. Thanks again to the stellar team!

Very cozy spot! Was recommended this place on reddit and it did not disappoint. The place was packed but service was still very good. Food was yummy and price was reasonable.

Interesting. The desert of this fried pancake chopped up into small pieces was very good but the main course was a bit bland. Tasted like corned beef with mashed potatoes mixed together.
